Notes |
- {geni:about_me} Alicia Hay (daughter of Thomas Hay and Elizabeth Stewart) was born 1382 in ,,Perth, Scotland, and died 1451 in ,,,Scotland. She married William Hay on 1399 in Yester, Haddington, East Mid Loth, Scotland, son of Thomas Haya and Johanna Gifford.
* The Scots Peerage contradicts itself on this point. In Volume IV page 445 under "Home, Earl of Home" it says: "Sir Alexander married Jean or Janet Hay, daughter of Sir William Hay of Lochorwarth, by Joanna, daughter and heiress of Hugh Gifford of Yester." [5, 6]
* * Notes (Research):"It is doubtful whether this lady was a Hay at all. Her seal appended to her charter of mortification 23 February 1447-8 to the altar of the B.V.M. in the kirk of Bothans bears the arms of Hay of Yester impaling three stars or cinquefoils." [8]
